Bishop Moore Vidyapith is named after EDWARD ALFRED LIVINGS TONE MOORE (1925 – 1937), the fourth Anglican Bishop of the erstwhile Diocese of Travancore Cochin and is managed by the CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese which is a minority community enjoying protection and sanction under the Indian constitution to run educational institutions of its choice for its members and others not opposed to Christian ideals. The school makes no discrimination whatsoever in terms of caste, religion or background of its pupils.

Bishop Moore Vidyapith, Mavelikara is named after the late Bishop Edward Alfred Livingstone Moore, the fourth Anglican Bishop of Travancore-Cochin (1925-37), who had made significant contributions in the field of general and higher education during his tenure as a missionary in India.

Higher Secondary School

Bishop Moore Higher Secondary School, Akkanattukara, Mavelikara, continues to be outstanding in the academic arena. Established in 1984 in the Sylvan compound and serene setting near the extensive Thazhakkara Farm Lands has classes from VIII to XII and having a strength of 250 students, 14 teaching and 3 non-teaching staff.
